Headmaster's Bulletin 10th February 2017
Students at NSB tend to excel at leading from the front and this has been showcased by the student governed 'MedSoc' society who are a self supporting group in the school consisting of students who aspire to work in the diverse range of healthcare professions. University applications for Medicine are extremely competitive and by means of preparation the students organised an Interview Circuit event where they were put through their paces by experts in the medical field which included our Chair of Governors, Peter Bason. The event was duly challenging but proved to be very beneficial for those participating - here
On immediate return from the break we are looking forward to one of the highlights of the calendar, the Charity Week lunch, where the monies raised during our fundraising week before Christmas are officially handed over to the charities that were nominated by the staff and student body. It is always extremely rewarding to hear from the students as to why the charities were selected and also from the charity representatives when they outline how the money will be put to good use.
I was delighted today to have the opportunity to congratulate Year 12 student, Oliver Sleightholme on his selection for the England U17 rugby squad. Oliver will be attending a two day training camp before an upcoming game against France. Congratulations also to the Year 8 football team who had a close 3-2 victory against Monk's Walk school in Hertfordshire this week which has put the team into the last eight of the national cup which is on a par with the Year 7 team who are also at the same stage in both of their national competitions.
A reminder to all parents/carers that Term 3 reports can be accessed on the website after their release this evening.
Finally I hope that all students have an enjoyable holiday and we look forward to their safe return on Monday February 20th.
