Remembrance Day - Poppy Appeal 2018
At Northampton School for Boys we are incredibly lucky to have a rich history, so as we join the rest of the nation in commemorating Remembrance Day and the centenary of the First World War we are able to look closer to home.
Between 1914-1918, 94 old boys of the school lost their lives in the First World War and this year to honour them and the centenary, the school is holding a Festival of Remembrance.
This includes: Key Stage 3 Creative Writing competition, Key Stages 4 and 5 Portraiture competition, Remembrance assemblies and Citizenship and Guidance lessons as well as an Expressive Arts showcase on Friday 9th November telling the story of the First World War.
As well as this, our Poppy Appeal this year is even more personal. Limited edition badges featuring the school’s crest, the poppy and the number 94, designed by Art teacher Mr Bradbury are being sold. These special badges are available in school or via ParentPay for £3 with all profits going to the British Legion Poppy Appeal.
