Help Us Maintain an Outstanding Education 2020
We are enormously grateful to those parents and local businesses who support the work of the school by making voluntary contributions to our School Development Fund. This additional funding has a vital impact on improving a pupil’s lifetime at the school.
Every curriculum area benefits and this policy of self-help allows to offer more and provide a higher quality delivery, exactly what sets NSB apart from other schools.
Schools are funded on per capita ratings but for those that work harder and offer more they do not receive additional funding from Government. Therefore, we appeal to parents, former students and friends to help us.
In recent years these are just a few key developments the Fund has provided:
- A new minibus
- State of the Art equipment in Drama, Music, Design Technology
- Enhanced Sports facilities
- Ipads
- New Cameras
- Science equipment
- Teaching support for Modern Languages
- Specialised Fitness Equipment for all ages boys and girls
- Maths Prizes
The list goes on but the Development Fund helps us inspire and motivate the students, we try and find something for everyone.
The Year 7 parents have just received the annual Development Fund letter and if there are more parents/grandparents who would like to contribute but haven’t got round to it yet, may I please urge you to return the direct debit forms as soon as possible as every penny does help.
If there are other parents who either personally or through their business would like to help in supporting the work of the school for the benefit of the pupils then please get in touch with me. I have been the Development Director at the school for almost 20 years and I can promise you that this is a really important funding stream to support us in delivering an outstanding education. It makes a difference.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
