Citizenship & Guidance Plan
Careers Education at NSB falls mainly into our C & G provision. Below you can see an overview of the lessons for each Year Group in the lower school:
Year 7 |
There is a career for everyone |
Year 8 |
STEM Careers Challenging Stereotypes in the Workplace |
Year 9 |
Strengths and Skills |
Year 10 |
How employable am I? |
Year 11 |

In addition to this, Y11 students have a 1:1 Careers Guidance Meeting with JHO or NHI
Sixth Form
For the Sixth Form, Careers Education falls into the Enrichment programme where students have a schedule of careers focused lessons/tasks to undertake.
From academic year 2021/22, Y12 will also undertake a compulsory work experience placement in Term 6.
Work Experience
Y9 and Y12 Form Tutors will be required to support students in their preparation for work experience; they should set aside form time for students to research and contact their target companies.
HRI will liaise with Form Tutors on an annual basis to inform them of the process and provide support where needed.
UNIFROG
Unifrog is the new online platform for NSB Form Tutors to support their tutees in their careers education; your tutees will use it in C&G, work experience planning and enrichment in the Sixth Form. There are videos and webinars available to all users which you might find beneficial for your own curriculum area, or indeed to support your form tutees with their careers choices and post 16/18 option making: Click Here
