Able, Gifted and Talented
The school is committed to enhancing the opportunities for all students in subjects where they show a particular passion, ability, or flair. As such, Curriculum Teams are continually identifying opportunities for students within their subject area, allowing them the opportunity to develop their talents and interests.
These opportunities are specifically identified by Curriculum Teams, as subject leaders are best placed to identify the appropriate opportunities for the appropriate students in their subject.
This year, we have already seen:
-
The IT department organise opportunities across both KS3 and KS4 for teams to partake in a national ‘Cyber-Security programme’.
-
A visit from former student, and now published author, Mitch Johnson, discussing literature and aspects of journalism.
-
The Maths team continuing to identify suitable Maths students to engage in the Maths Challenge.
-
Within English, students with a flair for public speaking have joined the School’s Debate Team, who competed in the Spencer Perceval Debate.
This page will be updated with opportunities and activities, however, the provisions available within each curriculum area are best discussed with your son’s subject teachers.
