Headmaster's Bulletin 6th October 2017
The school has a slightly exhausted but justifiably proud feel today after a very successful Open Evening last night, where in the region of 1,700 visitors toured the school, enjoying activities on show and interacting with students from all year groups and across all curriculum disciplines.
The staff and governors did a magnificent job in supporting the organisation of such a large event and the students were an absolute credit to the school with their brimming enthusiasm and passion for NSB coming to the fore throughout the evening.
After a series of tough interviews with a complete field of outstanding candidates, I am delighted to announce that Henry O'Donnell and Eloise Shardlow have been selected as Head Boy and Head Girl respectively for 2017/18: Please Click Here. Henry and Eloise have already undertaken their first engagements for the positions delivering exceptional speeches at the recent prospective Year 7 Presentation Evenings as well as being on hand to talk to parents throughout last night. As a reward for their sterling performances they also were asked to judge last week's NSB's 'Bake Off' competition which I think was a highly enjoyable task for the pair of them!
An excellent start to the sporting year with all of our football, basketball and rugby teams currently unbeaten in the respective national cups. The performances of our rugby teams at First XV and U15 level have been that good that they have grabbed the attention of the national press with the U18s headlining in the Daily Mail: Please Click Here and the U15s ranked at the beginning of the week as the top U15 side in the country (state and private schools) in the national league table for their age group which is an incredible achievement. Next up for both sides, King's College, Wimbledon on Saturday followed by tough NatWest Cup games at Bloxham for the First Team and home against Wellingborough School on Thursday for the U15s.
Lastly, a reminder that our first concert of the year 'Hooray for Hollywood' headlines in the Cripps Hall Theatre on Tuesday with tickets currently on sale from the Box Office: Please Click Here
