2019 has been a very special year in the school’s history as it has marked the centenary of the founding of the Old Northamptonians Association by former Headmaster, Edward Reynolds in commemoration of the 94 old boys, members of staff and sixth formers who lost their lives in the First World War. On July 12th 1919, Edward Reynolds decided to form the Old Northamptonians in honour of the fallen and to help former pupils and school leavers to maintain friendships and links with the school within a thriving sporting environment.

On 12th July this year, we held a magnificent Gala Ball to mark the day of the centenary.  The event was an outstanding success, demonstrating clearly the great strength of the relationship between the school and the club one hundred years on.  As a follow up to the Ball, the school and the club have also decided to hold a Grand Centenary Raffle to help raise much-needed funds to support the exceptional work of both institutions.

We have gathered together a host of fabulous prizes that include a 7 day family holiday (world-wide and £250 travel voucher), £500 in cash, an IPod, an IPhone, a helicopter lesson, an Xbox, a Spa day for 2, restaurant vouchers and lots more – the breadth of prizes will interest everyone.

We would respectfully ask that all school members look to support us in this venture. We have given each student 5 books of raffle tickets (£5 per book - £25) to take home for parents/carers to buy/sell to friends and family.

We are hoping to sell 10,000 books to raise a significant amount of money which will be split between the school and the club in order to help support the outstanding provision on both sides of the road. Where a family has more than one child at the school, we have issued the 5 books with the youngest child.

If parents/carers think they can help further by selling more books please contact your son/daughter’s Form Tutor for additional books of tickets. There will be prizes for top sellers.

This is a voluntary initiative but of course the more people that help us the more successful the outcome for the students. If you are unable to, or do not wish to sell all/any of the books please return them via your son/daughter to the Form Tutor who will seek to redistribute them.

If your son/daughter is involved in both institutions, we apologise for any duplication.
