16-19 Bursary
Northampton School for Boys operates a 16-19 Discretionary Bursary Fund to help students continue in full time education. From September 2024 this is available to all students with a family income below £27,215. A separate Entitlement Bursary exists for those Sixth Form students who are in the care of or have just left the care of the Local Authority, or are living independently (income support), or are disabled and qualify for benefits in their own right as a result of their disability.
If you think you may be eligible for either the Entitlement Bursary or the Discretionary Bursary, please email Mrs Jones in Finance on ljones@nsbtrust.school for the application form. For a Discretionary Bursary application you will also need to provide the information stated below to help assess the application.
-
EITHER entitlement to means-tested state benefit, or a Tax Credit Award Notice confirming household income of less than £27,215
- OR Evidence of self-employment income of less than £27,215 (SA302 or certified accounts only) for your last accounting period
Both the Entitlement and the Discretionary Bursary provide financial support for costs such as travel, office dress, course related expenditure (e.g. music tuition), educational visits, etc.
